Thanks to the Internet, our world has grown much larger from a communications standpoint. We can now take note of dedicated collectors in other countries - collecting the same things we are collecting. Our members can communicate with them and buy, sell and trade around the world.
Many collecting clubs are beginning to realize the potential for this expanded audience and have asked ACC for assistance on how to build a global membership marketing and management strategy for their group. New and expanded markets for both buying and selling antiques, art and collectibles have great potential around the globe.
You may already have international members in your membership. Or, you may not. You may not be interested in a "global" aspect for your club, or may be interested but haven't gotten around to it yet.
We are requesting that you help us get this new program launched by completing a brief survey. We need to get the current thinking of the leadership of collecting clubs in order to move to the next step. We currently have four excellent partners who are helping and advising us on this program - DMG World Media, Bonhams and Bonhams & Butterfields, Carter's and Antiques & Art Australia, and Trajan Publishing Corporation. These four partners, primarily headquartered in Great Britain, Canada and Australia, will supplement ACC's other partners who basically represent the United States.
Phase I of the project, which is expected to take 6-8 months, includes identifying groups that already are working with "sister" clubs in other countries or who have an international component within their club structure, documenting the areas of collecting in other countries which are supported by organized collecting groups, surveying the leadership of collecting groups on the ACC club data bank and tabulating and analyzing the results. After this, Phase II will be the development of the actual Global Marketing and Management program - the "tools" to assist clubs in developing your own global membership, marketing and management strategy.
We need your input, your suggestions and comments. Please take a couple of minutes to complete and return our survey. Your responses and club information will only be used in conjunction with this project and will go no further. Thanks. The online survey is located at: http://Surveys.Collectors.Org/GlobalMarketing
